RC sport hand paddles are designed to provide resistance training and develop explosive power and efficiency in the water. The hand paddles promote a high elbow catch, correct hand entry and increased proprioception. Features of the advanced RC sport hand paddle are described below.
Designed and manufactured in the UK
Packaged with eco-friendly materials
Custom Fit
120% scale relative to individual hand geometry provides optimal reduction in metabolic cost of stroke whilst minimising injury risk
3D scanning
Designed and engineered using 3D scanning to ensure even distribution of propulsive area around each hand
Optimum finger spacing
Scientifically proven, controlled finger separation sets hand in position to maximise thrust and provide motor memory
Skin-like surface
The propulsive surface texture mimics the roughness of human skin, optimising the feel and grip of the water
Stabilising profile
Surface area is evenly distributed around the hand, with a raised central profile for hand location and balance
Carbon fibre composite
Manufactured from a carbon fibre composite for robust, lightweight paddles
Benefits of RC sport hand paddles
Why develop RC sport hand paddles?
Why use RC sport hand paddles?
One size does not fit all
Most manufacturers offer a very limited size range of hand paddles. Ill-fitted hand paddles can negatively alter your swimming technique.
Oversized paddles can cause excessive strain on ligaments and tendons in the shoulders and can lead to injury.
Undersized paddles can result in the swimmer curling the fingers around the edge of the paddle in an attempt to increase stability.
Custom fit
RC sport provides customers with the opportunity to purchase custom fit hand paddles, significantly reducing the likelihood of injury.
A hand paddle scaled to 120% provides the swimmer with the appropriate level of water resistance based on their individual hand geometry.
Controlled finger separation
Using silicone straps in fixed position, finger spacing is set to optimise propulsion. Optimised finger separation has been shown to improve propulsive thrust by 8.8% compared to swimming with no finger separation.
No finger position guide
The use of hand paddles can result in the swimmer spreading their fingers inefficiently wide in an attempt to achieve stability.
Wide finger spacing significantly reduces propulsion and this may be negatively transferred into the swimmers technique.
Minimal technique transfer
Current designs do not provide opportunities for technique transfer between swimming with paddles and without. Habits are trained when using these current hand paddles that should not be transferred to swimming and can negatively affect technique.
Maximum technique transfer
With benefits including mimicking the roughness of skin and optimising finger separation, RC sport hand paddles are designed to build power and explosiveness whilst providing a seamless transition of technique improvements back into your swimming.
